Our banner feature is the IIGE's SHARED FUTURES workshop, a student and community designed event, on February 28. Tacoma based entrepreneur, hip-hop artist, and author Philip “Sharp Skills” Jacobs provided a demo of Reveal the Elephant a game based on his book, Elephant in the Room. Faculty, students, staff, and community members packed the room to play the game which opened up new ways to tackle organizational racism.

Decline in 2024 FAFSA applications and ongoing efforts to expand access to funding for education beyond high school brought the Washington Student Achievement Council to the GID Lab to create a District Deep Dive [3D] Program.
The Institute for Black Justice created the multicultural, integrated services delivery Thrive Center through design thinking workshops during November 2023-February 2024, facilitated by the GID Lab.
